This year, the harvest will take place in late August or early September. Recruitment at wineries has begun in anticipation of this crucial period for the sector. The Edmond Cornu et fils estate in Ladoix-Serrigny recruits around thirty harvesters each year for between eight and ten days to harvest its 16 hectares of vines. It employs between 15 and 20 harvesters each year, despite the tightening regulations.
The insulation of the rooms has been redoneIn a dedicated space, five rooms are dedicated to seasonal workers. With their wood-paneled walls, they smell of fresh wood. "We redid the insulation three years ago," says Lucie Cornu, one of the estate's four partners. For several years now, bunk beds have been banned for seasonal workers. So, in the bedrooms, the mattresses on the upper bunks have been removed. Each occupant has a lamp, an electrical outlet, and a locker to store their belongings.
